In April 1995, Darlene made Springfield, Missouri, her home. After a difficult divorce, she pursued a lifelong dream and became the only member of her family to graduate from college. At age 40, she graduated with honors from Drury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications/Public Relations.

Her education and training background opened the door to a career in healthcare education, where she trained physicians, nurses, and support staff on Epic, an electronic medical record system. What began as a 9-month contract position grew into more than 8 years of consulting and training across the country.

After life changes and painful back surgeries made classroom training physically difficult, Darlene found the perfect next chapter in career coaching. Since 2018, she has been a Certified Career Transitions Coach, offering professional resume services, career guidance, and clerical support for those needing business letters, college papers, or other written documents

Darlene helps people do more than find a job—she helps them pursue meaningful careers they can feel passionate about. Her own life experiences have given her deep insight into the barriers people face, including disability, trauma, career loss, and major life transitions. Her specialties include working with individuals with disabilities, high school and college students, displaced workers, and those seeking a fresh start or career change.

Outside of work, Darlene enjoys fishing, boating, and anything that gets her near the water. She also loves spending time with Teddy, her precious Shichon “teddy bear dog,” a Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise mix.
